"Anatomy of a Fiasco" is a split-bill evening of bold new work by Conner Horak-Flood and Jenna Smith, set to sweeping classical scores and presented at The Savoy Denver.
Smith's work offers a sly, tongue-in-cheek exploration with "Parlor Games," rituals of play that quickly unravel into something more urgent and irreverent. Beneath lies a reflection of the fragile choreography between social order, and the rules we invent to keep chaos at bay.
Meanwhile, Horak-Flood's hosts a party that refracts a classical composition through humor, theatricality, and athletic pas de deux work with "Midnight, the Stars, and You." In this world, everyone is a little unhinged, refinements unravel, and the beautifully absurd reveals something deeply human.
Together, these works trace the delicate line between elegance and pandemonium. They illustrate the anatomy of the profoundly human fiascos that shape the way we gather, play, endure, and begin again.
