About the artist
Grammy winner and founding member of The Carolina Chocolate Drops with Rhianon Giddens, Dom Flemons has spent decades weaving together over a century of American musical traditions, old-time folk, blues, country, and early roots, preserving stories that might otherwise be lost.
His 2018 solo album, Black Cowboys was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Folk Album and for a Blues Music Award. In 2025, Flemons was inducted into the American Banjo Museum Hall of Fame. His latest album on Smithsonian Folkways, Traveling Wildfire, is the most personal chapter yet. Dom explains that the album is “not only a statement of my personal travel experiences, but also a metaphor for rebirth in the wake of destruction.”
For an evening that feels like storytelling in your living room - this is that night. A chance to listen, reflect, and connect across time through music that’s honest, soulful, and alive.
