Davey, Do You See the Light? is an innovative and unusual folk musical, written by Denver songwriter Jim Broyles. It’s an epic story, told in rhyme and woven together with fifteen original songs. Five talented performers read the dramatic parts and perform the music.
The musical is based on the true story of three Pennsylvania coal miners trapped far below ground in August 1963, and the unlikely events that led to one of the twentieth century’s most fascinating mining disasters. Presented in the manner of a radio play, Davey Do You See the Light? is a throwback to the days when families would gather around their RCA Victor set and take delight in the amazing tales that came in over the radio waves. It was a time in which imagination was everything.
Jim is joined by fellow performers Chris and Steef Sealy, Luke Halpin and Chadzilla Johnson.
