BETC: Witch

The devil arrives in a small village to recruit souls, and business has never been better. Everyone is scrambling to bargain for something. Love, riches, and personal validation top the list. But one woman is having none of it, and she happens to be the woman whom everyone thinks is the town witch.

Jen Silverman’s reworking of the 1621 drama, The Witch of Edmonton, is wickedly funny, surprisingly moving and dangerously entertaining.

The play poses the question, “How much is a soul worth in a world where hope is increasingly hard to come by?”
