Sol y Luna: A Tango Love Story Salon Experience
Step into an intimate evening where art, music, and storytelling unfold up close.
Experience the first chapter of Sol y Luna, a sweeping new tango work brought to life with original music by Orquestra Típica Misteriosa de Buenos Aires and a cast of exceptional Argentine and U.S.-based artists, including Alberto Martinez singing the heartbeat of his cultural roots and Aldo Romero, the protagonist who longs for his past yet finds love in the present.
This salon offers more than a performance; it is a rare window into the creative process.
Following the presentation, you are invited to remain in the space and step inside the world of the artists. Meet the cast and creators, hear how the work is being built, and engage in conversation about the journey from concept to stage. Witness excerpts of works in progress as new scenes and choreographies begin to take shape.
Colorado Boy is a haunting and intimate theatrical work presented as part of the Roots and Routes Spring Season weekend, bringing a Denver Fringe Festival favorite into the Artists Amongst Us Salon experience. The piece traces Eric’s journey as he learns to navigate life while uncovering the realities of his mental illness, and the ways it shapes his relationships and perception of the world around him.
Set against the familiar yet shifting landscape of Colorado, the work weaves together scenes of everyday life, movement, and moments of stark vulnerability. What begins as a deeply personal narrative unfolds into a broader reflection on identity, belonging, and the courage it takes to confront what lives beneath the surface.
The show was written by Ronan Viard, and was inspired by the life story of his father, Franck Viard, who loved and supported this show, and is deeply missed.
Directed by Adrienne Astira and starring Ronan Viard and Maya Ferrario, Colorado Boy invites audiences into a nuanced and human exploration of mental health. The performance will be followed by a Q&A, creating space for dialogue on how art can build bridges and deepen understanding around the lived realities of mental illness.
Immigrant Voices Salon is an intimate and powerful salon performance within the Artists Amongst Us Social Justice & Art Salon Series, centering the lived experiences of artists shaped by movement across borders, languages, and identities.
Bringing together five immigrant artists, the salon weaves storytelling, live music, spoken word, and dance into a rich tapestry of personal expression. Each piece emerges from memory and transformation, tracing journeys of departure, arrival, and reinvention. From the echoes of childhood streets to the dissonance and discovery of new cultures, these works reveal how identity is continuously shaped across time and place.
At once deeply personal and collectively resonant, the salon invites audiences into the fragile and resilient spaces between belonging and displacement. Through intimate performances and shared presence, Immigrant Voices Salon offers a rare window into how migration lives on in the body, the voice, and the act of creation itself.
