The Denver Youth Program is holding a Gala to raise money for the Partners and GRASP programs. These local, non-profit programs focus on youth mentoring, gang diversion, career training, group support, and violence interventions. The goal is to help correct decades of societal indifference and segregation in our community and increase opportunities for youth to experience success in all aspects of their lives.
The theme is "Roaring 20s", harkening to the an era when the neighborhood was budding with a vibrant black culture despite the restrictive housing policies that left it as one of the few neighborhoods where black Denver residents could live. But the gala is also an opportunity to celebrate progress and invest in a brighter future from the 2020s onward.
Attendees are encouraged to dress for the theme — wearing flapper dresses, tweed or pinstripe suits — or wear cocktail attire. The event will include 20s era music, hors d’ourves, beverages, and silent and live auctions.
